Annie Savage

Annie Savage

About Annie Curious by nature. Creative by instinct. Delightfully overdressed when the occasion permits. Anne Wellborn Savage is an artist, educator, public speaker, nonprofit professional, and enthusiastic collector of beautiful things, interesting people, and ideas that refuse to leave her alone. With degrees in fine arts and public administration from UNLV, Annie has made a career of connecting people, ideas, and possibilities. Her work spans arts administration, education, nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and whatever interesting opportunity happens to wander into view. But a résumé is a terribly incomplete way to describe a person. Annie is endlessly curious. About people, history, art, science, philosophy, relationships, and the curious business of being human. She loves finding connections, particularly the unexpected ones. A photograph can lead to a story, a story to a memory, and a memory to an entirely different understanding of something she thought she knew. She has an eye for beauty and a weakness for anything with a little theatrical flair. She loves dressing up, throwing parties, setting a beautiful table, finding treasures in unlikely places, and making ordinary occasions feel extraordinary. She believes there's no particular reason a Tuesday can't be fabulous. She's a maker of things, a collector of experiences, and a willing amateur at almost anything. She'll try her hand at something simply because she's curious whether she can do it. Sometimes the results are wonderful. Sometimes they're spectacularly educational. Either way, there's usually a story. Annie loves good conversation, clever people, old photographs, interesting objects, beautiful spaces, and questions that don't have easy answers. She believes the best conversations wander, the best discoveries are often accidental, and the world gets considerably more interesting when you pay attention. A mother of five and grandmother of three, she's lived enough life to appreciate its contradictions. She can be sentimental and irreverent, thoughtful and impulsive, practical and wonderfully impractical. She values intelligence, kindness, humor, imagination, and the courage to reconsider what you think you know. This website is an assortment of her professional work, creative pursuits, observations, adventures, and occasional rabbit holes. There may be art. There may be philosophy. There may be food, family stories, fabulous parties, or an enthusiastic investigation into something nobody else thought to ask about. Because life is interesting, beauty is everywhere, and Annie has questions.
